Collective resonances

For equitable access to music

in vulnerable social situations

MISSION

To promote the benefits of music and cultural activities among vulnerable or marginalized populations, making them a vector for social inclusion.

MUSIC AS A VEHICLE FOR SOCIAL INCLUSION

Our Collective Resonances project responds to the need for social inclusion of vulnerable and/or marginalized people, who face challenges of integration and belonging. The benefits of music are considerable and particularly transformative for populations in vulnerable situations. That is the core reason we organize accessible, participatory music workshops.

Music builds bridges between cultures because it transcends language barriers. This is what we regularly observe: participants develop self-confidence, create meaningful bonds and develop a sense of belonging as soon as they engage in the musical experience.

Furthermore, music offers empowering opportunities, generating moments of pride, recognition, and accomplishment between participants and artists, breaking down social barriers and prejudices.

According to many social intervention experts, music contributes to:

  • developing a sense of belonging and cohesion in a diverse community;
  • boosting self-esteem and confidence in one’s abilities;
  • facilitating cultural and social integration;
  • creating a safe space for emotional expression during periods of transition and recovery.
